The Tri Venue - Texas Ski Ranch

Throughout the year at the Texas Ski Ranch, thousands of wakeboarders enter the cable lake for a safe place to learn and practice their sport.  Although the fresh water lake is meant for wakeboarders, the Ski Ranch opens the park to only 3 triathlons each year, one of which is the Skeese Greets Women's Tri.  We are fortunate to have a safe, well maintained lake that is regularly tested for quality and is used on a daily basis by wakeboarders.  The rest of the park creates a great atmosphere for a fun finisher's party, as well as a cool place for friends and family to watch all the action.

SEVERE WEATHER PLANS

The Skeese Greets Tri will implement a severe weather contingency plan if needed.  In the event of foul weather, the start time of this event may be delayed by up to 1 hour. Should the weather conditions be unsafe for the swim, this event will be changed to a duathlon with distances of a 1 mile run, 11 mile bike, and a 2 mile run. The duathlon will use the same wave starts as the triathlon. If the weather makes it too dangerous for cycling, the event will become a 2 mile run.

USAT Sanctioned Event

This is a USAT sanctioned event. The following rules must be followed:

  • You will be required to show your USAT membership card and photo id at packet pickup, or purchase a membership (one-day $10 or annual $39).
  • You must pick up your packet in person. No exceptions.
  • The age group of a participant will be determined by age on Dec. 31 of the event year, not by age on race day. For example, if you turn 25 years old in July of 2010, you will race and be ranked in the 25-29 age group for the entire 2011 season.
  • All youth ages 17 and under are required to be annual USAT members to compete in sanctioned events in 2011. The cost of an annual youth membership is $5 per year.
